first lobby design

this is the lobby entry... i place registration on the left side and the waiting area that will be able to view the water treatment on the left side of the site. on the right is the changing room and restroom... the design has a major flaw that is that the person who need the change his/ her cloth must walk back out to the lobby to entry the inner space.

there are total of nine concept model, in which i made for the purpose of light study. then i pick four of them to be in different spaces. then i will distract their individual element to the design.

here is the building on site. i would like to recreate the peace symbol that have the entry way started at the active side of the street. because of my interpretation of the word connection ( the absence is completed through the mind, the connection of object we see and the mind we response),  i start each space with simple geometry like the 3 dimensional rectangle box, and then carve out its form to produce spiritual light display.

and these are the selected models that has been placed the each space based on the function of each space.

this first concept model will be the inspiration for the the main entry.

 

 

this is the section idea of the main entry. the whole building will b part of the landscape because i want people to have a sense of being on or belonging to the earth. the completion of the geometry could be emphasized through plants or building elements. in this case is the high grass that is cut to complete the rectangle.

 

 

SPACE PLANING

 

these are the study of approximate space required for each person. And from there, I start to calculate the number of people and the other spaces related the main hall.

 

site analysis.... with relationship with people and environment we experience when walking through the space.



the bottom image shows the proposed experiences for each spaces. for example in the meditation hall would be quite, calm, light expression, and in the musical meditation hall would be rhythmical, water expression, and sound study.

Design Concept Board

This concept board defines the word " connection."

Through my interpretation, the connection start itself from lines. With the intersection of various lines, establishes the connection through our eyes and so the mind. The mind then, interprets those line to an image. Sometimes the lines may not complete the image that they are formed, yet our mind completed the image. Thus, the connection to me is the relationship of our mind and the object we see.
